Song Selection

Originally to try and find our idea we listened to different songs and tried to think what we could do with them. We listened to a multitude of songs and our first choice was ‘Crazy’ by Gnarles Barkley. However we soon realised that it was not as easy to work with as we had first expected and we struggled to find ideas to fit the song and so we started looking again.

We then changed tack and tried to find an idea and work a song around the idea. After some deliberation we came settled on the idea of using the recession and telling a story about someone whose life had been affected by it. The first song we thought to use was Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’. However we were dissuaded from this song but kept the idea. A little while later we came to settle on the song ‘Oh My God’ by the Keiser Chiefs and this is the song we will be using for our production.
